For the purposes of kickstarter, my family teaches me that everyone has different opinions for different reasons - listen to ideas, and figure out the driving force behind the concerns.
In my day job, I run a creative agency. This teaches me standards of quality that products need. It also teaches me the nit-picky details on how to set up PDFs for printing.
