 | Shrooms, Mycology ~ The Game is an exciting undertaking, and this is the first game I've ever designed. And, with little free time as I have other professional endeavors, it took me a very long time to get the game to where it is today. Going outside for walks in the summertime and seeing mushrooms in the wild kept me motivated. My Maine Coon, Apollo, was also a great “help.” He sat on my keyboard while I made my mushroom facts spreadsheets and when I wrote the game play. He likes to push the mushroom tokens around on the table and get in on the photography. He especially likes to smell all the curios and detritus I find on my walks that I’ve used to build some of the earliest prototyped game pieces. Upon his approval, I can begin gluing the pieces together. This little lion is my “assistant”, and is the inspiration for the company name I created specifically to shepherd the next stages of this project, Le Petit Líon Games, LLC. The LLC structure helps to support the many requirements for the project's next stages, but it is not a big or even small company of people, it is just me right now, well ...and Apollo, and family and friends continue providing encouragement. |
