 | My name is René Lausdahl and I am the owner and founder of Artamis. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Economics and Innovation, as well as one in pedagogy. right now, I work as an educator at Dybkærskolen in Silkeborg. I founded Artamis to show the school world and institution how role-play, in its many guises, can help create a pedagogical breeding ground for both learning, education and cultural insight.
The project "Academy of Heroes" was created in collaboration with my friend Jesper Rahbæk Petersen, we are both very passionate about role-playing and what it can give to young people. at the same time, role-playing was, for myself, a way of getting away from an everyday life that was not entirely ideal when I went to primary school. through role-playing I could experience a world where in I was no different from the others and at times even one where I could surpass them. I feel that, for myself, it has helped to develop me into who I am today. this is one thing that I would like to pass on to others.
The system itself is developed from a feeling that I personally did not think there were a rules system that appeals directly to children and young people. many rule systems are very rule heavy, and you have to spend a lot of time getting to know what needs to be done before you can play. |
