 | I've been scratch building for over 45 years. Everything from massive 1/6 scale vehicles down to 1/3000 scale model ships. In that time I have churned out a vast array of subjects. My own wargaming hobby has led to a prolific abundance of hand made scenery, vehicles and equipment. Its a hobby that I love. As for the models? it was my late father who taught me so much about model making. He even made working Locomotives in OO Gauge.
Most of my working life though has been in the aviation industry where I plied my trade as a sheet metal worker, working on aircraft structural repairs and modifications.
Military history is my passion and drive, so I have decided to turn these skills into an exciting new business.
Trucks have always fascinated me. Even as a wee boy I always loved looking at photographs that included long lines of loaded vehicles. In particular I was drawn almost hypnotically to those images of abandoned lorries on the streets leading into Dunkirk and of the makeshift piers of 15 cwt's stretching out to sea.
Logistics play such a vital part in winning the battle. This is reflected in my wargaming and model making.
Wargaming scenarios with plenty of trucks and models of big merchant ships and transport aircraft are what interest me.
So the idea of making my own range of trucks and armoured vehicles has stemmed from all these influences.
I am semi retired and can now apply my free time to the design and production of the master models that will form the nucleus of what I hope is a long and productive run of not so common vehicles.
I am really excited about the projects and ideas that are floating about my head. I am thoroughly enjoying bringing them to life as 3d models for you to enjoy too.
A big thank you to everyone who backed me on the last 2 KS campaigns and to all my customers. I get a great amount of encouragement from all your ideas and positive comments.
Keep the enthusiasm and I will do my best to keep scratch building. Stuart. |
