I call myself a rocket scientist, since I worked since the 1970's as an aerospace engineer, including star wars space vehicles. On the side, I published boardgames (starting in 1988 with Lords of the Sierra Madre) and raised my son Matt, now a full partner in Sierra Madre Games. In 2010 I married a German physician and two years later retired from aerospace and moved to Karlsruhe Germany. My most popular games so far are High Frontier, Pax Porfiriana, Pax Renaissance, and Bios:Genesis. Games are art forms the same way as literature: as recreations of reality according to the artist's value judgements. My games have a common thread: the universe as objectively knowable through the offices of science, the morality of freedom-based self-run societies, and humans as noble and worthy conscious individuals.
